The Forever Jacket!

Still trudging along with the jacket. I’ve not worked on it a whole lot in the last week or so because I went out of town. I finished the 1×1 ribbing and am transitioning in the front to the 1×2 ribbing. I think it is going to come along pretty fast for a while after I transition.

I met a knitting buddy while I was out of town! I was at a film festival, knitting while I was waiting for a film to start, and she was knitting, too! She and I chatted for a while and had a great time- she is also a librarian! I was thrilled to meet her. I told her about Ravelry, so hopefully she will get on and I will not loose track of her:-)

When I returned home, my sweet husband had braved the yarn store and bought me an “I missed you” present!

Seven hanks of Berroco Cotton Twist in a lovely olive color. He braved the yarn store and picked it out himself- he says he was looking for soft cotton because I always talk about it;-) I love him so much. I feel completely spoiled!

Continuing the slip rib pattern

Soon I will have something better to show! I am happy with the way it is looking, although I really have problems with the way this pattern is written. Well, I have admitted that I hate following patterns anyway, so maybe it is just me!
I have started on side by removing the provisional cast on and picking up the shoulder stitches. It is going nicely so far- I am almost to the neck shaping.

Trapeze Jacket

I have made a small amount of progress on the trapeze jacket. I am getting ready to start the 1×2 slip ribs! I am nervous about the transition- I tried it out in a practice piece and it turned out kind of rough. I everything is working better for me on the actual piece though, so I am hopeful!

Here is a picture of the first set of short rows. It is a bit further along now, but I’ve not taken any more pictures of it yet.

New Projects, Unfinished Business

I don’t know if it is the season that is rendering me incapable of finishing a project, or if I am just in a restless phase. I have set aside my beautiful alpaca, and am waiting for a while before I pick it back up. I will not need it for several months;-)

I have decided to refocus on my white baby knits, and am dutifully churning out squares for a cute little afghan. I have decided to make a few other little things and then the white will be complete.

I am also making a sweater with this lovely stuff:

I have fifteen hanks! It is knitpicks wool of the andes, (color: stream). The sweater is for my sister. I will post pictures of the piece when it starts taking a little more shape- it is a top-down pattern, and I am almost at the joining under the arms!
